Inspired by the tradition of the salon from Early Modern Revolutionary France, the series of Gay Heaven events served as part communal creation, part celebration, part exchange of ideas.
The evening would begin with participants gathering for a toast of the traditional Rainbow Drink, followed by informal presentations on various topics by attendees.
As the night progressed, the activities and attendees would become more chaotic, bouncing between art making (finger painting being quite popular), dancing, improvisation, ritual chanting for the great mother Chaos, and just plain laughter.
