urks io (they/them) is an omninonbinary writer, performer, and installation artist based in Portland, OR. Their work is focused on collectively weaving the dream of a post-capitalist radical queer utopia into reality and encouraging exploration and play through the creation of immersive worlds. Through works filled with irreverent word play, ecstatic nonsense rituals, and reused/ found materials, urks creates characters, objects, and universes that embody an optimistic and effervescent vision of our future– foreseeing how future generations will integrate joy, pleasure, and play into their lives.
